| When talking about Black Ops tips regarding weapon attachments, the difference between the Red Dot Sight and the Reflex Sight is one of the most asked questions, similar to the way that the difference between the RDS and holographic site often had people confused in Modern Warfare 2.And once again, similarly to the way it worked in Modern Warfare 2, the differences are pretty negligible. The “Red” in Red Dot Sight is sort of a misnomer, because it’s not necessarily red. One of the cool additions to Black Ops was the ability to customize things more closely, and the RDS is no exception. You can actually make it any color you want. But that’s not what you care about. You care about function, and the function of the RDS is to improve aiming. It doesn’t zoom, just help you aim better. The Reflex Sight, in all honesty, is not that different. It’s more similar to the Holographic Sight, in that you’re looking at a holo image further back in the gun’s casing. Nonetheless, the function is the same as the RDS. It does not zoom, just assist with aiming. It can be customized in all the same ways that the RDS can including color, shape, and lens color. It does handle light reflection a little worse, but you could play hundreds of hours without noticing that. So there you have it, the RDS and Reflex Sight are pretty much the same. What it really boils down to is your personal preference. | |
